Getting Through Menopause
Getting through menopause today is a lot easier than it was years ago. Today, many women entering the menopause stage of their lives are healthier, lead active lives, and feel years younger than women of past generations. However, there are still a number of women who struggle with menopausal symptoms and have a hard time overall getting through menopause. For some, it is an uncomfortable period where they experience hot flashes, headaches, irritability, fatigue, depression, loss of libido and an inability to enjoy sex.
Suggestions to Help You Get Through Menopause
First, it is important to understand that there is no “right” way to get through menopause. Every woman is different and there are several integrated approaches to help you get through this time in your life. For some, acupuncture and mediation work, while for others, menopause creams and other kinds of hormonal therapies are needed. Secondly, when entering into this period of your life, it is important that you are getting the proper amount of vitamins regularly. If you have been taking the same multivitamin for several years, now is the time to review the ingredients and perhaps change or add to the multivitamin you are taking. Women who are getting through menopause should take at least 400 IUs of vitamin E (take these in 200 IU intervals), 400 mcg of folic acid, 1250-1500 mg of calcium with 500 mg of magnesium, 100 mg of vitamin B6, 200-1200 IUs of vitamin D, 1,000-5000 mg of vitamin C with Rose Hips and Omega 3 essential fatty acids.
A progesterone or estrogen deficiency can cause women to experience hot flashes, vaginal dryness, decreased sex drive, decreased energy, depression, migraines, and mood swings. While some physicians will prescribe an estriol creme or oil for the vaginal dryness and thinning of the vaginal wall, it is important to discuss with your physician the benefits of using a progesterone menopause cream to balance estrogen creams. A Progesterone menopause cream such as MenoBalance may help lessen and/or even eliminate hot flashes, enhance libido, improve stamina and increase energy levels, stimulate the body’s own production of progesterone, estrogen, and other hormones, and provide women with an overall feeling of well-being.
Please note that it is not recommended, by leading doctors, to use Estriol Oil or Creme without balancing with progesterone. Estriol is the safest of the E3s but one should still used balanced approaches to hormonal health.
